Description
My Ohio garden would not be complete without these gorgeous tall purple verbena flowers. They reseed after every winter and pop up in many unexpected spots in my yard. I admit, I have to pull a lot of them, but with no fear because there are always plenty of them! these purple flowers stand tall and seem to be beacons for butterflies! You will see in my Butterfly Gallery that many, many of my images are of butterflies enjoying the sweetness of one of these blooms!
This particular flower was standing alone and had such an elegant grace to its stem that I had to take a picture of it. Luckily the background blurred just right and this became a portrait of a Tall Purple Verbena flower!

I need to set the seed for my yard. It would be wonderful to have them pop up every year. Wonder if I can just start patches of wildflowers too....like Queen Anne's Lace? Definitely going for Milkweed next summer. Ah....hard to believe it will soon be winter!
Karen Adams replied:
yes! you should do all of that, Nancy...you will love all the visitors you will get!!!
