Description
This little butterfly almost escaped my eye as he clung upside down to this stately Obedient flower in my Ohio garden. I actually spotted a large bumble bee before noticing this quiet busy creature enjoying the nectar of this plant. I really love the structure of these flowers and the purity of the white petals and my new teeny tiny friend enjoyed the camouflage it provided. This is a Grey Hairstreak butterfly which is fairly common in North America. They are usually around 1" in size, a light blue-greay color with noticeable orange-red spots near the bottom of their hindwings where you also find a thin tail.
Thank you so much for looking at my images. I appreciate that very much.
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
