Description
Spring in Ohio is glorious . . . with Magnolias, Crabapple, Cherry and Redbud trees blooming . . . daffodils, crocus, creeping phlox spreading over the flower beds and practically singing the praises of warm sunny weather. . . . and then one morning you rise to look outside and see snow falling. Hmmm, you wonder if there was enough falling to maybe stick to the ground?. . . . and then you look out a window . . . and yep, you gasp! All of a sudden it is winter again! The beautiful blooms are covered in cold heavy whiteness. It is actually beautiful in it's own unique and surprising way. . . . The beauty and quiet is awe inspiring. It is a new perspective . . . it is an appreciation of something you were not expecting . . . it brings a new happiness . . . and then it also brings another gasp . . . some poor little Redbuds that had been so heavy with lovely purple blooms the evening before could not hold up the weight of this unexpected winter blanket. . . . some have big branches torn right off . . . some split right in half . . . . so in one brief moment there is surprise, joy, awe, shock, dismay and acceptance . . . that is nature . . . . that is life. . . . and by afternoon the snow is all gone!
This took place on April 21, 2021! April showers bring May flowers, but heavy April snow brings . . . . tree damage! Seems symbolic of life for me back in that time. Life was going along the way it always did, until suddenly things changed. Some parts of old life were destroyed and had to be dealt with to make room for the coming summer and future Springs. Things were forever changed. Those trees and blossoms are now just treasured memories, but Spring has come again with new beauty and life goes on . . . .
Thank you for looking at my work. I appreciate you taking your time to look at what I see and read what I think, for what it's worth! Keep safe
Peace!

O mi gosh, I hope those lovely flowers made it! Just look at them surviving in the snow....such a worry when they poke their little heads out and it snows. Not fair! Fav'd!
Karen Adams replied:
Thanks, Carol . . . it was hard on the flowers and actually lost a few trees from the weight of that wet snow!

What a perfect capture, love to see snow on flowers, as long as it does not last for long. :) LF

This absolutely beautiful image seems like a metaphor for that time in your life. As beautiful as it is to us viewers, perhaps bittersweet to you in memory. You are a strong and lovely woman dear Karen, and I know you are eager for a beautiful spring at this point. My warmest wishes your way.
Mikes Nature
Beautiful Karen - and yet the still lingering notion in my mind is - if you can deem it quantitively at this juncture: : "Lessons You Still Need To Learn Mike" would be: Be grateful for what/who you were given at the time. Stop focusing on the emptiness - the "Only if I would have...". Today is the only day that remains. If you're willing and lucky, tomorrow will be given you. Try to see the beauty of now." Thx for sharing Karen!

Thanks so much, Mike . . . sometimes my art is really self-therapy for me . . . I'm glad it made sense to someone else.
