Description

I was trying to capture how I see the beauty of my garden with blooming flowers and butterflies. I will focus on one thing and see the details, but behind and around that is a scene of natural beauty and color. This is a view of tall purple verbena flowers (magnets for butterflies!) and zinnias (more butterfly magnets) and a visiting Giant Swallowtail Butterfly. These are one of the largest types of butterflies to join me in my yard and are definitely hard to miss. This view (the ventral view) of Giant Swallowtails is mostly yellow with touches of black orange and blue, while the dorsal view (wings open) is Black with what I see as a big yellow smile! I love these guys!
