Description
The fourth of July is a day we all look forward to for many reasons. It is a very predictable day. In Ohio it is hot. There are always parades, sales, picnics and fireworks. You can count on it. I can always count on this display in my garden too. The tall red bee balm (monarda) is as faithful as an old dog. It is so reliable, that when it starts blooming near the end June, it reminds me that the holiday is rapidly approaching.
I love the minty aroma of the leaves and those bright red bursts are beacons for bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. The tall purple coneflowers have decided that they like to be interspersed with this riot of red and so nature has given me this glorious harmony. Both of these flowers remind me of the beauty of exploding fireworks in the night sky, but lucky for me their beauty lasts much longer!
Thank you so much for looking at my images. I appreciate that very much.
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
