Description
Ironically, Rose of Sharon is not actually a rose. It is a member of the mallow family (Malvaceae.) It is a deciduous flowering shrub called "shrub althea," (Hibiscus syriacus.) Originally found in India and China, it is now a popular plant in Ohio and around the United States.
Generally speaking, rose of Sharon bushes can get 8 to 10 feet tall. I planted a row of white, lavender and blue Rose of Sharon shrubs to form a hedge between us and our neighbors' home. Four years ago, they were about two feet high. Today they tower over my head and form a really beautiful boundary for all of us to enjoy!
Thank you so much for looking at my images. I appreciate that very much.
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!
