Description
Two white daffodils with creamy yellow centers are viewed close-up. These flowers are members of the Narcissus genus of predominantly spring perennial plants in the Amaryllidaceae (amaryllis) family. They are known by many common names including daffodil, daffadowndilly, narcissus, and jonquil. This flower family has conspicuous flowers with six petal-like tepals surmounted by a cup- or trumpet-shaped corona. The flowers are generally white or yellow (orange or pink in garden varieties), with either uniform or contrasting coloured tepals and corona. I love to plant these bulbs in the Fall, because my memory always fails me and each Spring I am surprised at all the bursts of color springing up! Their trumpets seem to announce the arrival of wonderful weather!
